Art of the Board

Anyone in the Denver area?? Go have a look at “Art of the Board” at the History Colorado Center in Denver, on now until March 31.

The exhibit is as described by History Colorado

Boarders and non-boarders alike will find inspiration in this look at the artistic side of snowboard design. Colorado artisans including Never Summer, Donek, Weston, Meier, Unity, OZ, and High Society have filled the History Colorado Center atrium with 34 Colorado-themed snowboards. Some designs have become classics, while others are custom-made just for The Art of the Board, including ones made using photos from our collection!”

For this exhibit we worked closely with their vintage photo department of the center to choose some great topsheets which help depict Colorado’s rich history. Each topsheet has a story behind the picture, you can read about the history while taking in the exhibit. Part of the History Colorado crew even visited Donek to watch their boards be made.

The boards we made will be auctioned off at the end of March with the proceeds going to Protect Our Winters, a snowboard started non-profit group that aims at tackling climate change, a serious issue that affects us all in the snow industry. Sign up for our newsletter for when and where we will be auctioning off the boards.

Below is the video from the exhibit and some pics. Anyone going to the Denver area should take 20 mins and put it as a stop!
