Top 5 Places for Everyone in the Southern Hemisphere

As many resorts come to a close for the season, you still may want to fill a void that will be empty until possibly late November. Whether you ski or
snowboard, here are five of the best places to go for everyone to have a good time.

Australia – Jindabyne

A five hour drive or one hour flight from Sydney, servicing Perisher, Thredbo, Charlotte Pass and Selwyn Snow Resort; Jindabyne is nestled in the
Australian Alps, one of the oldest ranges in the world. With an array of resorts close by there is something for everyone in the family from the freerider
to the trickster. Perisher’s terrain park is world class playing host to the biggest ski and snowboard contest in the Southern Hemisphere, The Mile High.
This contest runs in mid-August and attracts the world’s best riders. Check out Threbo, it has the longest run which leads into a picturesque village where
you can stop for refreshments.

New Zealand – Queenstown & Wanaka

Found in the south island of New Zealand, Queenstown, a.k.a the adrenaline capital, plays host to Cornet Peak and the beautiful Remarkables Ski Field. Not
only is there great skiing with amazing lake views and stunning ranges, but close to Queenstown lays many adventures from jet boating to bungee jumping.
Hop on a helicopter to Milford Sound or to untouched snowy peaks for a ride down. From the day time to the night, Queenstown is a hotbed of entertainment.

Wanaka, just an hour drive from the hustling Queenstown, is a bit quieter and is the hub for Treble Cone and Cardrona. Treble Cone has amazing freeriding
and backcountry. Cardrona has one of the best parks and Olympic size halfpipes in the world, and runs everyone would enjoy from beginners to experts.

Argentina – Bariloche

Surrounded by many 2000+M mountains and numerous lakes, Bariloche is a taste of the Alps with European style in the heart of South America. Beginners,
intermediates and experts alike have plenty of terrain options at Bariloche, including over 100KMs of groomed runs. Plan to stay for a couple of days,
there are thirty-nine ski lifts!

Chile – Portillo

Located in the Andes Mountains and is 160KMs from Santiago, Portillo sits at 2,880M above sea level with the highest lift reaching 3,310M above sea level.
With a vertical drop of 762M, it’s no surprise this resort has been a training facility for many years for Northern Hemisphere racers. The surrounding
peaks are only surpassed by those in the Himalayan, Karakoram, and Tien Shan ranges.
